What's in my piggy bank for November?

I feel like I really went outside my "norm" with my November picks. Not only would I typically pick more snuggly and cozy items for this month, I also have chosen a couple of pieces that aren't typically what I would consider my "style." (Maybe I even channeled Gwen Stefani?!)

Also, I think everything looks like it could almost be one outfit. But what can I say? I saw these super affordable (and cute!) plaid pants from Joe Fresh and they called to me for some reason. Then everything kind of followed from there. But I can definitely see how you could remix each piece several times throughout the winter, and possibly even into other seasons.

So while these picks are definitely more of a step out of my style comfort zone, I still think they are a step in the right direction.

1. Joe Fresh Skull Sweater, $39.00
2. Charlotte Russe Coiled Snake Rhinestone Ring, $6.00
4. Joe Fresh Tartan Pant, $49.00

6. Urban Outfitters Eva Embellished Head Wrap, $14.00

Splurge on: Lace pieces

For the last few months, it seems that lace has been everywhere. And while I've always thought it a very pretty adornment, I've never realized how versatile lace really is until now. It can be used to create a structured piece, or it can give a girly romantic vibe, or it can even be the perfect boho touch you need for your upcoming music festival wardrobe. Clearly I am like everyone else and falling in love with lace.

Here are just a few pieces that I've got my eye on:

1. Lulu’s Fine Dining Cream Lace Dress, $42.00
2. Prabal Gurung for Target Lace Hard Sided Clutch, $34.99
3. ThreeBirdNest Sheer Simplicity Lace Headband in Plum, $12.99
4. Lulu’s Crochet or the Highway Ivory Crocheted Top, $60.00
5. Forever 21 Lace Paneled Skirt in Black, $15.80
6. Necessary Clothing Cupcake Shorts in Peach, $27.99

My "go-to" concert outfit

I've noticed recently that I seem to develop a type of "uniform" for certain events. Or even day-to-day for that matter. It just helps the the time spent in front of the closet go a lot faster if you have a few "go-tos" handy.

So today I present you with my "go-to" outfit that I wear attending shows around town, particularly in the cooler months. Basically it consists of a dress, a button down to act as a jacket (I can remove this if it's warm inside) and comfy shoes for standing/dancing. Cowboy boots are a classic for me—they give a little bit of height, are cute and my feet don't hurt to stand in them for a couple of hours.

A tiny cross body bag is perfect for carrying a phone, gloss, ID, cash and your ticket, plus it's lightweight and won't annoy you. Add a couple pieces of jewelry and possibly even a fun boho braid somewhere in your hair and you're ready for a good time!

Here's the cheapskate outfit breakdown:

1. Strapless floral dress, TJ Maxx ($14.99)
2. Vintage chambray button down, thrifted ($4.99)
3. Cowboy boots, Kohl's ($32.99)
4. Cross body bag, thrifted ($3.00)
5. Sunglasses, Urban Outfitters ($10.00)
6. Heart locket necklace (had since I was child)
7. Star necklace, Etsy ($12.00)
8. Leaf ring, gifted (thanks Em!)
9. Circle ring, Brooklyn Flea ($5.00)

Total: Under $100.00

What's in my piggy bank for August?

1. Xhilaration Halter Maxi Dress, $27.99. Like the month of August, this dress is hot, hot, hot.

2. Brash Lunar Platform Wedge, $24.99. My friend has a pair similar to this in black so I have been lusting after this style for a while. But I really love this hot magenta color...perfect for ending dog days of summer.

3. Necessary Clothing Carrie Cozy Sweater, $38.99. Even though it is way too hot down here for 'summer sweaters' I still love this and honestly could probably use it since it is so cold inside everywhere I go!

4. Urban Outfitters Truly Madly Deeply Flag Muscle Tee, $29.00. The perfect tank to throw on and rock for any concert.

5.  Forever21 Faux Leather Zip Shorts, $19.80. Still jonesin for a pair of black "leather" shorts.

6. David and Young Stripy Floppy Hat, $24.00. When I think of August, I think of red for some reason. And I also think of floppy hats. This is a perfect combo.

7. ModCloth Arbor Rose Belt, $12.99. Yep, still loving floral prints...on everything

8. Heart Stud Earrings, $10.00. Um, how adorable are these cute little heart shaped stud earrings I found on Etsy?

9. Charlotte Russe Satin Rhinestone Toe Oxford, $34.00. They've combined two of my favorite things...studs and oxfords. #love!

10. Charlotte Russe Chain-Flap Fringe-Trim Bag, $32.50. It's a larger-sized crossbody bag, therefore I must have it.

Splurge on: Beach bound essentials

It seems like everyone I talk to these days is heading to the beach for the 4th of July holiday (everyone except me that is...wah wah). Or they have been at the lake every weekend. So even though I am lucky if I can squeeze in some pool time (at a place where I "hop the fence!"), I figured I would still do a splurge post  for those of you who actually have some beach or lake assets. That's just the kind of girl I am!

1. Old Navy Splash Print Bandeau Bikini, $12.99 each ($25.98 total)
2. Pendleton Turquoise Trail Spa Towel, $48.00
3. Xhilaration Voile Swim Coverup Dress in white, $26.99
4. Urban Outfitters Jupiter Round Sunglasses in green, $14.00
5. Women’s Beston Tommy in beige, $33.45
6. Vintage Beach Canvas Beach Bag (on Etsy), $33.00
