The city that never sleeves

You know you're lacking for creativity when you simply use the words on your shirt as the title of a blog post.

But truthfully, I love the saying on this shirt. I love silly puns and I love old school tanks like this one, so really it's the best of both worlds. And I also love that my friend Peach gave it to me for my birthday. Clearly she knows me well! She also gave me these awesome sunglasses, too. I don't rock them as well as she does, but I'm trying.

I don't think there's much else to say except that Laura and I shot this on our lunch break last Friday and it was entirely too much fun for me. I don't get to see her very often these days so it was awesome to catch up one-on-one and it was a blast having her have time to shoot me again.

In a flash

I have to admit when I was approached by Jack of All Trades about picking out a comic book tee shirt, I got a bit excited. Not only are their shirts super cute and comfy, but it just so happens that J (the boy) also knows a thing or two about some comics. So yeah, I was pumped to have him help me pick out a shirt.

We looked at several options and had a tough time deciding, but we finally narrowed it down to Superman (duh) and the Flash. But the more I looked at the two shirts, the more I realized that I probably had a bit more in common with the Flash: I'm a runner (though not very fast) and I'm always rushing around to my next big adventure or activity.

Plus the shirt was red and it had a lightning bolt on it. I mean really, that alone was probably enough for me to make my choice!

When I asked my friend Amy to handle this photoshoot, she very quickly threw out the idea of shooting at the new LightRails art-light installment near Railroad Park. At the time she had no clue what my outfit was going to look like, but she couldn't have picked a better location.

Put a ring on it

Now don't go getting any crazy ideas because no, I'm not engaged. BUT someone did put a ring on it (ie, me) recently and I am in love.  In love with the ring, that is (and ok, maybe I'm in love with the company, too).

Let me explain...

I recently received a very generous offer from Modern Design to choose one of their Tungsten rings. First of all, that in itself was a difficult feat because there were so many options. I was overwhelmed trying to pick just one from all the great designs.

But then I spied this little beauty, a stud-inspired facet ring in black, and I was smitten. It looked like it would be the perfect finishing touch to add a bit of edginess to any outfit I created. Man I love being right. And yeah, I also love this ring.

Mix it up Chris

As I mentioned yesterday, I am loving all kinds of printed fabric at the moment. Occasionally I even get really wild and decide to mix those prints.

Exhibit A: Today's ensemble. I mean, stripes and florals together—say what?! Yeah, I know. Real exciting right? I'm sure I just blew your mind.

Oh but wait for it...this outfit is actually a dress tucked into a skirt (you can see the full dress here in another post). I know, right?! You're acting like you can't see the bottom part of my dress and you're totally feeling like you just watched "Inception" for the first time aren't you?!

Ok, enough sarcasm. For real though, if you ever want to shake things up a bit with your wardrobe, just consider mixing a couple of different prints that you already own. Or think about how you could wear a dress tucked into a skirt. Both of these tricks will make your closet seem bigger than it really is.
