What's in a name? That which you call a rose....

Yeah, yeah. Well, I hate to break it to you, but 'ole Willy got that one wrong. Big time. A name can be crucial. So crucial, in fact, that it kept me at my wits end for a couple of months as I struggled for a name for my stationery company. Then it came to me. A name that would encompass everything in one word: fashionplate. Because if you know me, you know that I like to think I am a fashionplate myself. And I like to think my stationery designs will also be fashionplates in their own right. Oh and there's that "plate" part, too....yeah, anyone that knows me, knows that I love food. But that was just an added bonus.

So naturally, after creating a business, what's a girl to do in this modern world of marketing, but decide that she needs a blog. But my blog couldn't just be about the new stationery I am designing. I wanted something else...an "angle" if you will. So I thought about what else I was good at: saving money.

It's a running joke among my friends that I am ridiculously frugal. I honestly have trouble spending money. But more than that, sometimes it's just more fun to find a way to do what I want...cheaply. So there it was. Staring me in my face. My angle: Fashionplate Cheapskate.

So welcome to my blog! Here I'll share with you all my tips on how you too can "style" your life frugally. And by "style" I mean everything. Music, fun, food, fashion, travel. Basically everything I love to style my life with, I'll share with you and how to do it the cheapskate way. Oh and I'll throw in a few super cute new stationery designs every now and then too. But don't worry, those won't cost you any extra!
