Trot on over to Daytrotter...NOW

I might have just discovered the motherload of FREE live music: www.daytrotter.com. I truly wish you guys could've seen me freak out when I found this website. I'm sure it was a sight to see. I hope I'm not the last person in the world to find out about this site, but something tells I'm probably close to it as I seem to be slow on things from time to time.

Anyhow, you know I'm a huge fan of Grooveshark. I listen to their free streaming songs all the time and like to make my GS picks monthly for my readers. So I've seen the albums on there called "From the Daytrotter Sessions" but I never took the time to figure out what exactly Daytrotter was. Until today that is. Today I saw that my current obsession, The Head and the Heart, tweeted that their Daytrotter session was up. So naturally I followed the link (I'm devouring any tunes I can get from them) and lemme just say my mind was blown.

Turns out, bands take the time to swing through this studio in Illinois, stop in for a couple of hours to play and record four live songs and then continue on their merry little way to the next show they're playing. Then, the Daytrotter folks are kind enough to post these four songs on their site—every. day. And you don't just listen to it streaming, these are free downloads that go straight into your iTunes. AH-mazing. Do you know how many bands that is? How many free songs that is?! Well, I don't quite yet, but now that I'm aware of this site, I'll be exploring it on a daily basis, that's for sure.

Oh, and did I mention they also have an app that allows you to listen straight from your phone and again, it's FREE? I didn't? Oh my mistake. Now you know!

So seriously, go trot til you don't stop! Happy trotting!
