A cheapskate goes to L.A.

I can't believe it. The time has finally come for my first trip to L.A.! My mom and I have been planning this since Thanksgiving. Well, when I say planning I mean, we bought our tickets and got our vacation rental back in November. From that point on, this so-called-planner (i.e., me) hasn't quite planned anything else! I have no idea what has gotten into me considering this is such a big trip, but I think I'm ok with it. It'll be fun to just go and experience the city and have a few things on our "to do" list, but hopefully not too much to get stressed out about.

Luckily, I have at least prepared in one way...I've printed a couple of guides to L.A. that Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere has shared with her readers here and here. I figure she seems pretty much like an expert, so if I've at least done that, I'll taste and see the good parts of L.A.—especially the shopping parts! Now the biggest thing left on my plate (yes, another plate pun!) is to finish packing! Yikes.

Ok, so all of that to say that I might be MIA for a couple of days on the blog, but definitely check back soon for an update on my trip. I mean, we're not just going to L.A. I'll also be spending a couple of days in Monterey with an old college roomie and we'll drive up to San Francisco for the day as well. So I'm gonna have a lot to report on when I return. In the meantime, I have couple of posts planned for tomorrow, Friday and the following Monday...just a little something to help get you through the work week :)

So I know it's last minute, but if anyone has any tips for L.A., especially on what to wear and where to go...I'm all ears - just leave me a comment below!
